Cooperation-Network for logistics and nautical education focusing on Inland Waterway Transport in the Danube corridor supported by innovative solutions
Welcome to NELI Project website!
The three-year EU co-funded project NELI - Cooperation-Network for Logistics and nautical education focusing on Inland Waterway Transport in the Danube corridor supported by innovative solutions implemented within the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme – SEE addresses specific problems such as discrepancies between national educational systems in the field of inland waterway transport, lack of interaction and communication between training institutions and stakeholders in the sector, limited number of harmonized initiatives, scarce or lacking eLearning services and insufficient promotion of the inland waterway transport sector.
To this end NELI set out to create a cooperation network between partners and stakeholders involved in inland waterway transport, provide support to education and training specialized entities, make an in-depth analysis of education and training in the field of inland waterway transport and advocate inland waterway transport through promotion actions.
NELI FINAL EVENT
At the end of a three-year journey NELI consortium organized the final event to mark the successful finalization of the project.
The event took place in Constanta, Romania on the 20th and 21st of March 2012.
NELI brought together education and training institutions, authorities, administrations and stakeholders in the Inland Waterway Transport sector and came up with viable solutions for improvement of education and training in the field of inland waterway transport, ways of a better promotion of this sector, sustainable strategies for a balanced development of this part of Europe ultimately leading to the disappearance of current disparities.
Following speeches by the Lead Partner, Project Manager, guests from the Joint Technical Secretariat of the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme and the Romanian Ministries of Regional Development and Transport, presentations of the project main outcomes, the participants were invited to actually touch, feel, read and play with several NELI "results" within the so-called NELI Living Lab which was set up as a small scale replica of the Information and Training Centres developed in four of the participant countries (InfoDanube, Infocenter Danube, RIS Training Centre and DUNAPROMO).
On the second day of the event the participants visited Constanta Port Administration (including newly inaugurated passengers’ terminal), Constanta South Container Terminal, Agigea Lock Chamber as well as CERONAV’s training facilities (simulators, labs and training pool).
NELI consortium would like to thank all the people who contributed and supported the project either directly or indirectly.
